Quick reminder: No class on Friday the 28th of this month--last Friday of the month is special training for the VTSDA Leadership Team. This January is our annual new year celebration in Honbu Dojo in Monterey, CA. This takes place January 10th-11th, a Saturday and Sunday. I'll be there, Mr. Barker will be there... it's going to be great. There will be about six hours of training over the weekend, plus at least one master-level rank demonstration, and there are generally some demonstrations from the different dojos and masters who are there to hang out. All Seibukan students are welcome, so if you want to go and think you can make it, let me know. Other than that, we've had some great rank demonstrations, and we have some more great rank demonstrations coming up very soon, as we look forward to getting some color on some of our excellent white belts. First up, a few dates: - Saturday, September 27: Mr. Barker will be doing his shodan demonstration (last 45 mins of class--there will still be regular class).
- Saturday, October 4: No Seibukan classes. Tang Soo Do clinics and dan testing will be going on throughout the day.
- Saturday, October 11: Tom's shodan demonstration.
Second, I mentioned it in class--but we're having an influx of students. This is really exciting. In the last week or so, we've added on five or six new students to the adult class, and a couple to the youth program. Thank you all for making the dojo what it is--something people want to be part of. Finally, with such busy Saturdays coming up, I'm going to be fitting kyu testing in "around the edges," at the end of classes or right after class. If you think you're ready to go, please be sure to let me know.
